babylon leaf xmas party

What ho. Here I am overcoming illness and dragging my sorry ass out of bed to tell you about the babylon leaf xmas party... so you've got to come now, see? £3 per ticket, we're doing a set, plus Lee Ellis will be DJing. Check the events section for more details.

Tickets are available from us (e-mail me or Sonic) or direct from Global Grooves, Brook Street, Chester. Alternatively, if you're out and about in or near Mold, you can grab em from Baby Bliss, 11 Wrexham Street, Mold, CH7 1ET (phone 01352 751481 if you get stuck!).

Newspaper article

Wow... a great suprise for me tonight upon opening the local evening newspaper (Evening Leader). I knew there was an article due to go in, but a 2 page spread! Fantastico. And a damn good write up too! Cheers to Tony Bell for taking the time to come down to practice, giving us a listen and writing such a great article, and to Simon Williams Tully for again taking the time out, this time to take some fantastic photos of Hanny. I mean the band ;)

Check out the review in the brand new promo section... its a little large (~300k) as its a large article, and I've kept it at 144 dpi to ensure its readable, so please be patient with it as it downloads.

Latest gigs

Just an update on the latest gigs... and how they went.

PHD1, Nottingham - 15/11/2003
After a hefty amount of travelling and not much kip, we were all a little apprehensive about this one. The pub/bar/restaurant itself has just been done out and looked a little on the posh side... this was soon confirmed by the hefty price tag on the beer (2.80!). But hey, we were in a city, and do as city folk do. Except with out the poncing around in jeans and a suit jacket with a mobile phone strapped to your ear ;)

The gig itself was a bit crazy: some sound problems (aren't there always?) and an awkward sound check whilst people were still eating their king prawns... but I think it was OK. My pa described it as 'watching Liverpool play poorly, but still score three goals to win', which I thought was a reasonable description! We went down well, but we could have played better. Hopefully next time the apprehension and awkwardness will be gone and we'll play a belter.

New art, new author

I've added a couple of bits of Tom's art to the artwork page and in return it seems our man Tom has graced us with his somewhat surreal presence. Lucky us. Lets hope we hear more from the bongo man soon.

News flash

it would appear that overnight the band Babylon Leaf have gone missing presumed eaten each other after their van the magnificent Denmore never returned from the last gig in Ruthin, the survivors might be trying to eek out somekind of suvival on the north by north face of Moel Famau, North Wales.

It is true that Neil was quite adept at hunting shrews so perhaps the worst is just some king of horrible truth diguising its self as falsehood. our best wishes go out with them, glorious commandos of cultural exchange.

Swapped default pic

You'll probably notice I've swapped the default pic above... mainly cos the black/glowing pic only had five of us on it... and I still love the red circles thing that Tom did for one of our early demos 'r u ok'. Have a whinge at me if you're not into it, or want a different pic come up as the default.
