Climate Change concert

Date and time:
22 Oct 2009 - 7:30pm
Location:
Civic Hall, Connah's Quay

We will be playing at The Climate is in Our Hands: a climate change awareness event at the Civic Hall in Connah's Quay. We also have The Issues with us, playing at 9:30pm - we'll be on at 10pm. Doors are open to the public from 7:30pm.

"The climate is in our hands is about the small steps we can take to make a difference by reducing our own carbon footprint. Also, during the week and at the event we are asking people to sign a petition to encourage UK government to lobby hard at Copenhagen summit in December to produce plans to reduce emissions globally and to support developing nations in this task either financially or with technology."

Admission is £1 on the door. The venue is not licensed to serve alcoholic beverages but soft drinks and other refreshments will be available.

New year and a new drummer

Boz, drunkAs a lot of you probably know we've been practising and playing with Boz on drums. Boz used to be a key player in High Times along with our very own Rich before he joined us in 2003.

Since putting High Times on hold, Boz has worked at his own music and has amassed a fair few recordings of his ideas. We've been playing together since the tail end of 2008 and its all going well - we have a couple of new covers and some re-worked versions of our own songs. We've also been using Mad Dog Studios in Deeside to help us kick ourselves back into shape.

The Battle of the Bands gig at The Tivoli was a good laugh - we suffered with sound quality a bit (why were we the only band without a sound check?) and Neil breaking a string on the first song was bound to happen as soon as Sod realised we didn't have any spare guitars. Eh well, the tunes went down well and if it wasn't for the Babylon Crowd there would've been about 10 people there. Big thanks to all who came to support us - let's hope there's a next time!

...oh and a new website

Ish. I took the opportunity to update the website a bit. We're now running the latest version of Drupal 6, with a re-worked events calendar, events listing and galleries. I've also completely replaced the ageing theme with, well, a practically identical one built on a much better, cleaner framework called, um, Framework.

Let me know if there are any issues or if you have any suggestions to improve the site.
